Walk 和 酒 Taste Your Way Through San Francisco

With a Walk Score of 89, San Francisco is the second most walkable large city in the U.S. Combine that with its proximity to the vineyards of Sonoma 和 Napa, 和 it should come as no surprise that many neighborhoods in the city host a wine walk (or two) during the year.

Often positioned as fundraisers for neighborhood associations 和 local non-profits, the wine walk season starts in 2月 on the city’s famed Union Street 和 finishes on the equally charming 菲尔莫 Street in 12月. 

Many of the walks are from 4 to 8 p.m.; times may vary, however. Tasting event fees range from $25 to $30 per person. It's best for you to confirm the details of these events closer to your visit.

2月 

Union Street Valentine 酒 Walk 

Union Street, from Gough to Steiner streets

This Valentine’s Day tradition brings couples to San Francisco’s storied Union Street. Discover charming Victorians 和 colorful courtyards filled with more than 200 shops 和 restaurants. Many of Union Street’s restaurants offer international 和 California cuisine. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map with all of the tasting locations. The ticket price includes wine samples at all of the sampling locations. 

4月 

Polk Street Spring 酒 Walk  

Polk Street, from Sutter to Filbert Streets

Polk Street parallels Van Ness Avenue 和 extends all the way to 渔人码头. This wine walk takes you to the heart of one of the oldest shopping districts in San Francisco. At the turn of the century, it was one of the city’s most exclusive shopping areas, favorited by residents of nearby 头山 和 太平洋高地. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map at all tasting locations.

菲尔莫 Street Spring 酒 Walk 

菲尔莫 Street, from Jackson to Eddy Streets

沿着菲尔莫街 太平洋高地, there are a number of intimate cafes 和 restaurants, as well as a concentration of upscale stores. As 菲尔莫 Street slopes down to Eddy Street, walkers enter San Francisco’s historic 结合, one of only three remaining in the U.S., 和 the area once known as the “Harlem of the West,” where an abundance of jazz clubs 和 the historic 菲尔莫 Auditorium are located. Merchants offer wine samples inside their stores. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map with all of the tasting locations.

北海滩 Spring 酒 Walk

San Francisco’s upper Grant Avenue in the heart of 北海滩’s Little Italy neighborhood takes on the air of an 意大利 piazza along Columbus Avenue, Vallejo 和 Green streets. Participants receive a wine glass 和 map with all tasting locations. Be sure to enjoy food from one of the local trattorias after the wine tasting, too.  

6月  

Art 和 酒 Walk at the Wharf 

The Cannery Courtyard, 650 Beach St. 

选择艺术画廊, museums 和 other businesses open their doors to art 和 wine lovers for this event in the heart of 渔人码头. Pair classic 和 contemporary artworks with California wines to please your palate. Starting with The Cannery Courtyard at the Academy of Art University, gallery-hop, 与当地艺术家会面, 和 help toast the artists showing at 渔人码头. Attendees will receive wine tastings 和 a commemorative wine glass.  

7月 

Polk Street Summer 酒 Walk  

Polk Street, from Union to Post Streets

Stroll along Polk Street 和 enjoy wine samples inside local merchants' stores. 购物 along the street where 头山 meets Russian Hill is eclectic 和 there’s always a new spot to explore, from a tempting c和y store to vintage wares. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map of all tasting locations.

9月 

北海滩 Fall 酒 Walk

Close your eyes 和 you may hear the occasional “mangia” or “delicioso” above the hum of amiable conversations emanating from sidewalk cafes 和 off-beat bistros. This is the heart of San Francisco’s Little Italy, 和 menus reflect this with ample portions of pasta al dente 和 hearty bowls of cioppino. San Francisco’s 意大利 immigrants created this delicious fish stew made with tomatoes 和 a variety of fish 和 shellfish. Participants receive a wine glass 和 map with all tasting locations. 

内河码头中心 酒 Walk  

内河码头中心 

Located just a few blocks north of the foot of Market Street, the 内河码头中心 features nationally renowned retail shops 和 restaurants across its five-building campus, which includes office towers 和 the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Not only does the tasting event include wine samples inside stores throughout 内河码头中心, but also it’s the perfect opportunity to shop, 吃饭攒钱. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map with all of the tasting locations.  

菲尔莫 Street Fall 酒 Walk 

菲尔莫 Street, from Jackson to Eddy streets

Imagine the ideal neighborhood stroll in San Francisco 和 菲尔莫 Street should come to mind. Catch the first hint of an up-和-coming trend or pick up an oven-fresh croissant. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map with all of the tasting locations.  

Valencia Street 酒 Walk 

Valencia Street, from 14th to 26th streets

Chic 和 edgy doesn’t begin to describe the vibe along Valencia Street. With wine glass 和 a map to all the participating locations in h和, you’re in for a treat. While snacks may be available at some locations, don’t miss the opportunity to eat at one of the great local restaurants in the 任务的区.

Union Street is lined with turn-of-the-century Victorians that have been converted into boutique 和 restaurants. Merchants in the neighborhood, once called Cow Hollow because of the dairy farms in the area, will offer wine samples inside their stores. Participants will receive a wine glass 和 map.

北海滩 Holiday 酒 Walk

Old World Italy 和 waterfront Bohemianism meet of-the-moment dining spots in this lively neighborhood. The city’s vibrant 意大利-American community has populated 北海滩 with excellent restaurants 和 cafes. Participants receive a wine glass 和 map with all tasting locations
